Aerial flight over a dense pine forestRaizwood owns and operates plantations and sawmills in the well-known timber producing region of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Our plantations include softwoods and hardwoods in various stages of forest management and regeneration.
Raizwood employs over 200 people, more than half of whom are women from the surrounding rural areas.
Our plantations have been managed since the 1800s. The wood processed in our sawmill is used in industries such as transportation, logistics and warehousing, industrial and commercial manufacturing, and construction.
We process our own and imported timber.
More than 60% of our employees are women.
